The Climate Action Plan

In 2022, City Council adopted a Climate Action Plan, or CAP, which was part of the Pennsylvania DEP's Local Climate Action Program. The plan is based on guiding principles of education, engagement, economy and equity, or the 4E's. It sets ambitious goals and serves as a roadmap for future action steps. However, it is not a detailed blueprint. What Meadville does how and when is the prerogative of the City. The Environmental Advisory Council helps the City in this task. The Environmental Advisory Council

With its seven members, the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is a recently established body of the City that advises Council on how to put into action its climate and environmental goals as laid out in the Climate Action Plan. The EAC meets every third Thursday of the month at 5:30pm at the City Building. Click here to learn more about the EAC on the City's official website.
