Green Meadville
Highland Farm
Where do ducks and guinea hens mingle with peacocks and a donkey with alpacas and sheep? Where can you find your berry bushes, peach, pear, and apple trees near 800 pawpaw trees, nicknamed the “Native American banana”? Just outside of Meadville at “Highland Farm”! George and Xinyang Sylves run their 35-acre farm as organically as possible, avoiding synthetic pesticides, practicing rotational grazing and permaculture, using animal manure to fertilize crops, and providing ample room for the eclectic mix of animals to roam. They sell alpaca products at Edinboro Market and lambs to auctions, as well as honey, tree seedlings, goslings, ducklings, and pastured duck & chicken eggs directly on the farm.
